A Tale of Two Warriors.

Paraphrase from the book “Live Like a Jesus Freak” pages 33-34

On February 26,1968 and man named James Stegalls was serving a tour in Vietnam.  He found himself crouched in a foxhole for 5 hours as a fierce battle surrounded him.   He began reading the Gideon’s New Testament that he had with him.  He ended up on Matthew 18:19-20

“Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

He felt peace and knew that things were going to be ok.  A long time later, in the states, he visited his grandmother and she told him a story about a night that she feared for his life and prayed the entire night for him.  She had read Matthew 18:19-20 and after that, called her Sunday School teacher and they both prayed for James.  She then opened her bible and showed the date to James.  February 26, 1968.

One warrior praying for another.  One on a physical battlefield – the other on the spiritual.  One just as real as the other.  Both require training and determination to defeat the enemy.  Each brings the opportunity for victory if the battle plan is followed.

Thank the Lord for the Prayer Warriors.  Those who know how to do battle on their knees!
