It’s Not Just Another Friday!

It’s Good Friday!

“All Fridays are good!”, you may say.

Yes, but not as good as this one.

This is the one that reminds us of what Jesus did on the cross for you and me. He died for us. He died for the people you like and the people you dislike. He died for the people who live good lives and for the people who have destroyed other’s lives by their selfishness. He died for those who have received Him already and He died for those who currently worship other gods. He died for those who we feel deserve His forgiveness and for those we think deserve hell. He covered it all by His sacrifice.

No one is excluded.

So, have you accepted Him?  The choice is our own.  Jesus will not force us to serve Him but it is important to remember that He is the only way to heaven.  Sound narrow-minded?  If there were other ways to get there, His death would not have been necessary.

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”  John 14:6

He died for us because He loved us enough to do it and He still loves us.  No matter what we’ve done, said, thought – He loves us.  Hard to imagine that type of love isn’t it?  That’s the awesome thing about it.  It’s an incomprehensible love so much greater than our own.

Jesus loves us, He died for us, and He wants a relationship with us.  What a wonderful day to remember all of these things as we prepare for Easter Sunday – the celebration of not only His death but His victory over it.  You see, He didn’t just die for our sins.  He rose again on the third day so we could have victory over them!

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
